Nicholas Bredimus’ Remarkable History

March 6th, 2010 by admin

Taken note yet of how computerization has dramatically changed hospitality and air travel in recent years? The driving force behind this is New Jersey’s own Nicholas Bredimus. He has worked on initiatives varying from the creation of time-saving computer programs to increasing air safety and even designs for high value homes. Bredimus has brought astonishing energy to any and all areas, too.

Taking a look at Mr Nicholas Bredimus’ lineage it’s easy to tell he was a lock to achieve distinction. Traceable back to the glory days of Rome, in fact Nicholas’ family can be linked to a great part of Europe. On his mother’s branch, on the one hand, he boasts Scottish and German lines. His father’s family, however, comes from England and Luxembourg, which is where they emigrated from in the late nineteenth century. Once in the United States, the family still strove to rise in the world. Growing up one of seven siblings, Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer, and a mother who earned her living as a nurse. He would spend much of his life in towns across several states; Arizona, Missouri, Virginia and Texas. Once his education was complete, Nicholas Bredimus would sign up for a number of high-powered jobs for some of the strongest airline companies. Among these was included the VP post for Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and Hughes Airwest. Most important, even considering this, was his time as an inspired software designer working with the airline industry.

His trailblazing innovations in the field of aircraft maintenance computer programs, now put to use throughout the air travel sector though first created for US Airways, resulted in what is surely his most popular creation. But this stands as only one of his major developments for the hotel business. His flight reservation software is on its way to becoming as commonly used as the aircraft maintenance software, while the room booking program he designed enabled many hotels to leverage the first PC client based infrastructure. And next he developed an automated, networked system for ticket ordering which stands as a first.

Nicholas Bredimus has served in several roles entirely unconnected to software design, let’s remember. Responsible roles with American Airlines and American Express were to come, and in the biggest move of all he established a business of his own in the early nineties.

Today Mr Bredimus has withdrawn from Northwest Airlines and from programming, but he’s still making the most of his mind. You’ll find his work now at the forefront of building design — balancing the requirements of comfort with up-to-date technology and honest environmental interests. All of which goes to show how much untiring energy can accomplish.
