Use Your Stack before It’s Gone

July 20th, 2010 by admin

Blinding out is more than boring, it’s also pretty pathetic: it’s kind of like bleeding out on a battlefield, waiting for someone to put you out of your misery. Not only is it hugely frustrating, it’s also mind-numbingly boring as well. The only times I’ve ever questioned my love for online poker games are the times early on when I’d spend all night folding without playing a single hand. What happens is that you just keep losing your chips until you look down and realize that your stack only has a few blinds left-it’s too small to buy any pots and if you don’t draw a winning poker hand in one of those blinds, the game’s over for you.

Don’t let the blinds knock you out-make your opponents earn every chip that they get from you. Once you start getting desperate, it’s time to start going all in. If you’ve got nine or ten blinds left, you’ve probably still got enough of a stack to intimidate your poker online table, so start going all in preflop and start buying up pots before your stack gets too small to be effective. Just be sure to keep an eye on your stack if you’re in the middle of a dry streak; it’s important to start using it before it gets too weak.
